I track carbonaria’s flight to the hollow gum tree near tangles of mangroves that hold the river. I track close, but a dragonfly whirls bright above the tangle— teases to follow its all-seeing eye. See the stingrays hang shadows under the new bridge through the deep intervals of green and blue, see their wings bend, gracious below a riot of blackfish on the boil up for air above their calm eye. Then track through cicadas that disrupt the air thick with the stink of oysters, over-ripe, where I'll find the hive-- a new-made spiral galaxy birthed from a tight-wrapped centre, busy with encryption. And know the universe: a wild gift of lemon-tanged sun- warmed caramel honey

Beautiful
Such a beautiful journey
